Dean Winters talks to us about DIY mayhem, and why you're a danger to your own home. "Check me out. I'm a do-it-yourselfer. All the enthusiasm and optimism, but none of the skill or ability." As a do-it-yourselfer, he falls through the attics floor and then messes up a light switch that blows out some lights. "It's like I have an apatite for destruction, and my house is an all-you-can-eat buffet." He then rides heavy machinery into a gazebo. "If you've got the wrong home insurance you could be DIYing these payments yourself. So get an Allstate agent and be protected from mayhem like you." While trying to paint a wall close to a railing, he falls from the second floor.
This is one of my favorite campaigns ever. Plus, it doesn't hurt that I love Dean Winters and everything he's ever done. He should do way more. Anyway, I can only expect that a lot of people who actually do a bunch of DIY work around their house is going to be pretty offended. But, as a do-it-yourselfer personally, I know my work isn't that good, haha, so I'm alright with it.
