A few people are hanging out at a house party eating Tostitos Cantina chips. "Guys, amazing party." An older man walks in and the hostess notices him. "Is that the famous food critic Miles Von Gaston?" He sits down and starts judging the Tostitos Cantina Chipotle Thins in front of him. "Perfectly thing and crispy. Freshly roasted chipotle peppers. Mm delicious mild smokey taste." The hostess asks the people around her "He knows this isn't a restaurant, right?" Miles Von Gaston gets up and shares his review. "Four stars for the chips. For the service, not so much." Miles walks away as he gives the hostess his napkin. "New Tostitos Cantina Chipotle Thins. Deliciously authentic. Tostitos, bring the party."
I believe the food critic was actor J.K. Simmons also known for his Farmers insurance commercials & J.Jonah Jameson on Spiderman. Great actor!
Sorry, the line, "freshly roasted chipotle peppers" blew all credibility of the ad for me. Chipotle peppers are smoked jalapenos, so there is nothing fresh about them, and there is no reason to roast them: they are already very dry and smoky.
Of course he's not real, he looks and acts like he's straight out of central casting. The commercial makes me want authentic tortilla chips and salsa, definitely nothing from tostitos. Two stars for the mustache.
Annoying commercial to say the least- yuppie suburbanites, a professional food critic just p iOS in the door? I get its just for fun, and a poor generic attempt at humor, but this commercial delivers where it needs.....makes me want to get some Tostitos and dip right now! And I just ate dinner. So it gets 4/5 stars. Btw, I googled "Miles Von Gaston" and could not find him anywhere, except for the commercial, so I'm assuming he's not a real person?
